Lavender Oat Milk Latte (Print)

A soothing floral beverage with creamy oat milk, espresso, and lavender, perfect for relaxed mornings or afternoons.

# Ingredients:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1/4 cup water
02 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender buds

→ Latte

04 - 2 shots (2 ounces) espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
05 - 2 cups oat milk
06 - 2–3 tablespoons lavender syrup
07 - Ice, optional

# Directions:

01 - Combine water, granulated sugar, and dried culinary lavender buds in a small saucepan. Simmer gently over medium heat, stirring continuously until sugar dissolves. Continue simmering for 2 minutes before removing from heat. Allow to steep for 5 minutes, then strain out lavender buds and let the syrup cool.
02 - Extract two shots of espresso or prepare 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee according to preference.
03 - Heat oat milk in a saucepan or froth using a milk frother until hot and foamy. For iced beverages, use cold oat milk and omit heating.
04 - Add lavender syrup to each mug or glass. Pour in brewed espresso or coffee, then top with oat milk. Stir gently to blend flavors.
05 - For an iced version, add ice to the glass before pouring in espresso and oat milk.
06 - Garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender buds or a twist of lemon zest if desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • This latte feels like an indulgent treat but takes only minutes to make, especially with shortcut lavender syrup.
  • The recipe is vegan and dairy-free, so everyone in my circle can enjoy it guilt-free.
02 -
  • If you boil the syrup too aggressively, the lavender turns bitter—keep the heat low and watch the clock.
  • I once used regular lavender from my garden, but culinary buds are essential for a safe, tasty syrup.
03 -
  • Always cool the syrup fully before adding to your latte—it melds best when chilled.
  • A sprinkle of lemon zest wakes up every sip and feels like spring in a cup.
